01-01-07 Tehran Iran: 2314 hrs. What a day this has been.
I started out in Dubai many hours ago. I got here around 1035 hrs.
local time. The man at passport control gave me an amused look when
he saw me. I have been outside walking around most of the day at markets
and up and down the streets of the northern part of the city. I have
wanted to come here for years and finally got it together to do it.
Getting the visa wasn’t easy but I lucked out by being in Dubai,
which is an easier place to get one than America apparently. This
is a hell of a way to start the year. It’s an amazing city,
Tehran, very fully of life and traffic. I am tired and want to get
an early start on the day tomorrow. I am so happy to be here.
