DISPATCHES

#004. 01-04-07 Tehran Iran: 2314 hrs. Shirin’s friends invited me to dinner so I went. Cabs are very cheap and easy to find here so it’s not hard to get around. The food was great and the people were very interesting and very funny. I can’t describe how insane the traffic is here. I don’t know how they do it. The lanes are defined by any space you can squeeze your car into. Drivers frequently cut other drivers off to make high speed left lane changes, sometimes the misses are by inches. I have gotten used to it in a way because it’s rarely not like this on the streets.
