#010. 01-10-07 Tel Aviv Israel: 2334 hrs. Just back from a long day. My bag limped back into existence today and made it all the way to Israel. Only one thing was missing so I feel pretty lucky. I spent the day in Jerusalem with my pal Michael, a tour guide I met here many years ago. It was great to see him again and to listen to him talk about Jerusalem and its history. Driving from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, I was reminded of how beautiful it is here. It’s a real knock out. The sky is so blue it’s almost painful to look at. When the sun sets on Jerusalem, no matter in what direction you look, it’s amazing. We returned from there and went to the airport where I collected my bag. Then I went to the hotel, did one TV interview and went to a radio station where they basically gave me two hours of air time. I played all kinds of music out of my iPod. I played The Evens, Kas Product, Deerhoof, Negative Trend, The Mark Of Cain, Huun Huur Tu and some others. Tomorrow is the first of the three shows here. I can’t wait to get them going.
