#303. 11-02-06 LA CA: 1959 hrs. Just finished watching that documentary on HBO about how easy it was for some techie types to hack right into the Diebold machines and change a vote without getting caught. It was depressing. I am not one that thinks that one party is all good and the other is all bad. That’s just stupid. I do think when the voting process potentially becomes fallible, then Democracy itself is in trouble and that’s a lot bigger than the person you wanted to win not winning. Like the last two presidential elections, if the results were 100% accurate, then fair enough, the people have spoken. But if that system is in doubt, then everyone is screwed. I wouldn’t want the person I voted for to win or lose by misdeed. All this stuff makes me feel rather small and powerless.
