12-28-06 Dubai UAE: 2253 hrs. In a hotel in Dubai. An interesting
moment back in Bahrain. The guy at the counter recognized me and he
couldn’t believe I was standing in front of him in Bahrain at
0515 hrs. He said, “I love Disconnect!” We did photos
on his cell phone, it was all very cool. I got here and had to do
a brief appearance at the local Virgin Megastore and then did some
phone press for some local radio stations. Dubai is developing at
an incredible rate. It will be the most insane looking city in a decade.
I have never seen so much construction in my life. I went out walking
tonight and looked at the massive buildings that lined the street
I am staying on. It’s like ten Manhattans. The show here tomorrow
should be interesting.
