08-29-07 LA CA: 2304 hrs. I don’t know the particulars
but Hilly from CBGB’s has passed away. He was always so cool
to me. I was first introduced to him by HR of the Bad Brains in the
winter of 1979 I think it was. We drove up there to see The Cramps
play. Like many bands, I did a fair amount of shows at CB’s
and used to go there a lot when I lived around the corner. I wish
I could find the photographer who took the pictures of Joey Ramone,
Handsome Dick and I at CB’s one night because I know he was
in some of the shots. I hope he had a good life. He sure did a lot
for music. I worked 11 hours at the office and came back here. Worked
out, worked on radio stuff and that’s about it. Hilly passing
has given me a lot to think about.
