08-31-07 LA CA: 2351 hrs. Tonight I went to an event at Cherokee
Studios, where I have made a lot of albums. They are moving to a different
location and the building is being leveled. They invited me to a dinner
there. I took a few moments to sit alone behind the board in the control
room. I have spent so many hours in that room. David Lynch was there,
it was good to talk with him. So many great albums were recorded there.
Bowie, Ricky Nelson, Dr. John, Ozzy, Rod Stewart, a lot of gold and
platinum records on the wall. It was intense to know I was walking
out of there for the last time. I got up at 0230 hrs. today. The books
came in a little before noon. 41 boxes 42 pounds each, in that heat,
it was much better when it was over.
