BROADCAST #02
AIR DATE: 01-08-08

Hello Fanatics! It is 0738 hrs. and I have been up for four hours already. It’s going to be a long day. I am checking out a 2CDR set of the 12-10-07 Led Zeppelin show supplied to me by Joel, Fanatic From Ohio and it’s pretty damn rockin’. I thought I would make tonight’s show a very hand crafted affair with a good helping of vinyl that is a bit obscure and I hope it is to your liking. Some of these bands, like The Four Plugs and Six Minute War I know nothing much about and can’t seem to find much on them so I am sorry if I don’t provide much information. As you can see, there’s a new Buck Gooter album, always a good thing. Now, you know that next week, we start some pre-taped shows and of course they are not nearly as fun as going live but nonetheless, the music will be really cool. Here’s what you can expect:

01-15-08
Music From The Dischord Label:
It’s all Dischord all night! It’s a damn 32 song set list!

01-22-08
Music Of Germany:
I figured since I will be in Germany on that night, we might as well pay tribute to some of the great music Germany has given the world. From Wagner to Nico to Neu!, we will cover the German music spectrum somewhat. This is going to be a great one!

01-29-08
Music From The SST Records Label + A Thin Lizzy Set:
I will be in Dublin that night so we have to check in with Mr. Phil Lynott! The set Starts with Black Flag and ends with a Phil solo track and in between it’s all great. Don’t miss this one.

02-05-08: Music From Africa: I will be in Cape Town South Africa on this night. The broadcast will be all music from the African continent. This show starts with Fela and won’t turn you loose until Orchestra Makassy is done.

02-12-08:
Night Of The Stoner!:
We will listen to three bands and only three songs. High On Fire, Om, and Sleep! Two hours of bludgeoning Stoner Rock! A first on Indie 103, we are going to listen to Sleep’s amazing album Dopesmoker, a single track clocking in at over an hour. We will do this with only one commercial break!

02-19-08:
Top Shelf Gear:
I wanted to do this last year but didn’t get the chance. I have put together three shows so far that are songs that are just so damn good you can’t do anything about it. I don’t think there will be many that you are unfamiliar with but I think you will dig it all the same. This set starts with Where Eagles Dare and goes right into Crosstown Traffic, come on!

02-26-08:
Obey Shepard Night!:
I had an idea the other night when I was in Pakistan. I wrote the great graphic artist and frequent listener to our show, Shepard Fairey and asked him if he wanted to come in on a night and take over the show. He said yes. I have no idea what he will bring with him to play but I am interested in finding out. Please tune in!

03-04-08:
A Great Mix:
Engineer X and I put together a night of killer music. A lot of Punk Rock perfection along with artists such as Miles and The Cosmic Jokers and trouble makers like XBXRX. It’s a solid night of zero boredom factor music.

03-11-08:
Top Shelf Gear Vol. 02:
Another great assortment of monster music. 27 songs we pulled off on this one. The Doors, Parliament, Johnny Cash and Billie Holiday all in one show? You know how we do it.

03-18-08:
Duty Now For The Future +:
We will listen to DEVO’s amazing 2nd album Duty Now For The Future in its entirety along with the two b-sides from the album and then go into great 12 song mix of this and that. Another 27 song night!

And then . . . if there’s anything left . . . if I am still alive to do it to it . . . we will be back live! --> I hope you find these shows to be to your liking. I hate not being live so we went all out to make the canned version all it could be. Anyway Fanatics, I will put up a different posting on this site each week, telling you how the tour is going and what’s happening. Thanks for listening tonight and STAY FANATIC!!! --Henry
